Steel.

I basically disappeared and had a complete creative dry spell, but I'm back and here's a recent picture of a crazy old steel plant I wandered around in.

The air.

Today was a lonely beautiful day. I cleaned, drank green tea, skated around, stretched, took a nap, bought gas and an oil filter and drove all around town looking for the right place to see the clouds, I don't recall saying much today. I am more dimensional than photographs so I'm going to start including random writings on posts. Dave likes my writings, so if it's bad, let him know.

Did I mention all too rough?
That the air is feeling smoother
Flowing down my lungs
Spilling out my eyes

Could I leave any longer?
Down the road
Do I look small
Vanishing into the horizon

Your eyes, did I mention?
And your lips, just the same
Are synchronized in travel
Sweeter than my air

Summer 06' revisited.

Here's some older pictures with little stories.

Every weekend Jen and I would go to a little lake beach. We bought 1 season pass; so basically I went in the trunk everytime and she used the pass 2 for 1 deal. There were a ton of Nascar folks and beer, but we were just looking for a place to chill. I can't wait for the hot weather! I like the grass in this photo.

The summer was ending. We were contemplating jumping into the water when this guy (Kyle I) started falling from the clouds, he was lucky he didn't land on the diving board. Parachutes?

Electric.

I had to recreate a photo/ad for my studio class. Jim and I have too many Loteks so I decided to do this Jason Enns ad despite not having the right shoe. The ad scan is kind of bad, the actual page isn't yellow like that. It turned out nice. Good job Jim.

Studio.

After almost 3/4 through the semester in my studio class we've arrived at studio portraits and lighting stuff. It's much more fun, for me at least to photograph a person rather than a flower arrangement or something, the flowers never talk to me. Anyhow, who else would I shoot but Jen? The background in this photo is kind of weird but and the lighting is crazy but.. whatever. I have some more formal ones that look like yearbook photos that were shot to meet assignment requirements.

Texas continued 2.0

Thomas and I decided to stay in Texas for way longer than planned, Noah left for his parent's house, and we took a Greyhound bus back. People on the bus are rough, dirty, and love drugs, they crawl out of the deep cracks of the earth's crust just to make 30 hour trips across the country. This lady fell asleep and smelled like a dumpster of rotten food, cigars and alcohol.

This cat was pretty funny, everyone else wanted to kill it.

Noah and his legs, he toothpicked the vert wall in the background also.

Carvatron.

I hadn't ridden a ramp in over a month before this trip, so riding a 7ft+ ramp was kind of joke on the first day, whatever though.

The box at T1 was intimidating so good job to Tom for jumping it.

Noah didn't want a toothpick after the long drive down, he wanted a toothbrush.

Thomas and Noah were basically living off of beef jerky during the trip.

I don't enjoy basketball, it took about 15 minutes of missed shots for 2 teams of 3 to be put together.

Josh Steir as denim-man, the guy loves fishing which doesn't explain why these pants pull up to 1" below his button.

Austin, TX continued.

Here's more pictures from the Austin trip. Everyone but Thomas carving the light, he did do it though, and manualed a mega ledge. Turndown by: he wouldn't want you to know him. Building. Even more pictures again sometime this week.

Fog.

I got out of work at 8:30am and there was an immense amount of smoke around, this man was blowing it from his cigarette all over town.. Luckily I had left my camera in my car so I went out looking for some inviting cityscapes.

Umm deathcold.

Usually I post pictures, but today it was so cold once again. This area has the worst weather ever, how could the climate go from 95 degrees, sunny, humid to -10 degrees (the temperature when I went to work last night at 4am), and chalk dry out? I'm very sick of it. Though it has to be worse for many others, the homeless, and for college students with no cars walking to classes, even those who just don't have a car. Simply terrible, can't wait to move somewhere more steady someday... Vacation.

Keep warm, don't die out there..

It's snowing again..

I bought a bike in the dead of winter. I rode it a few miles the other night it was like 18 degrees. I also assembled some bottles with a man and some other works, I almost like it better in a photograph.

I hated driving in this stuff last night. Everything looks sharp and glass-like now. This is a little tree but I couldn't find any big trees that had fallen. Enjoy...?

Christmas is over. I have 2 pictures today. One of my bike, I brought it back to 3 years ago with a good brown paint job. I haven't been able to ride for the past few weeks though because I hurt my hip badly, hopefully the weather stays abnormally warm past my recovery. The second picture is Jennifer, she has "cornrows in her hair". We have a funny song up on myspace about it: http://www.myspace.com/jenbaaske Until next time, goodluck...
